Minneapolis, in south-east Minnesota, is set at the head of the Mississippi River and very close to the impressive St. Anthony Falls. Twinned with its sister city, Saint Paul, it is the largest city in the state, with a skyline dominated by glass skyscrapers, reflective of its vibrant and busy lifestyle. However, in spite of a very cosmopolitan atmosphere, Minneapolis is a friendly place and possesses the charm of a small city.

A system of sixty climate-controlled, elevated skyways, connects more than forty-five blocks of shops, restaurants and theaters, protecting citizens from the harsh winter weather. Home to two world-class art museums, the Minneapolis Institute of Art and the Walker Art Center, the city also boasts the highest per capita theater attendance in the country, after New York. With numerous lakes and even more parks, there is always somewhere to relax or the chance to take a refreshing perspective of the area via one of the many trails that wind through and around the city.
