Guadalajara is the second largest city in Mexico and capital of the state of Jalisco. A cosmopolitan city, Guadalajara has tree-lined boulevards, parks and plazas, plus pockets of beautifully preserved historic sites that range from ancient ruins to colonial mansions and Churrigueresque architecture. Guadalajara has a strong cultural and historical tradition and the Regional Museum is arguably the best museum in the city, as well as a magnificent example of Baroque architecture.
