Heidelberg Transportation
Heidelberg is approximately 80 kilometres (50 miles) south of Frankfurt and 100 kilometres (60 miles) north-west of Stuttgart Airport with most international flights arriving at Frankfurt-Main International Airport (FRA). An inter-city train runs directly from the airport to Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof (main railway station) and takes about 45 minutes.

Heidleberg is served by both Frankfurt International Airport and Stuttgart Airport.
Getting Around Heidelberg
A taxi from the airports to Heidelberg will cost in excess of 150 DM and also take about an hour. There are a number of car rental agencies located at the airport, but parking in central Heidelberg can be problematic. Permits are required in many areas, the rest are metered and hotel parking can be expensive. Heidelberg is relatively small with a large pedestrianized zone and most attractions are within easy walking distance.
