The George Hotel is an elegant Grade II listed hotel, well known around the world as the birthplace of Rugby League. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful countryside including the Peak District and the home of the Bronte family.

Holmfirth, the picturesque village made famous in 'The Last of the Summer Wine', and Haworth Parsonage, home of the literary Bronte family are just two of the nearby visitor attractions . The George was built in the Victorian period around 1851; it is an elegant Grade II listed building situated on the main square in Huddersfield town centre. It has a friendly atmosphere and is popular as a meeting place with local people. There are 60 ensuite bedrooms and the public areas include a comfortable, traditional lounge and bar, and a restaurant which has recently undergone refurbishment.
