Time Off
Adelaide, the capital of South Australia, is a beautiful and gracious city with large expanses of parkland and more than its fair share of churches. Set close to the Mount Lofty Ranges, the Gulf of St Vincent and the old-style beach resort of Glenelg, it retains the atmosphere of a large country town. Laid out in a series of neat grids, you can cross the town from north to south via the main street. Designed for outdoor life, the city lends itself to sport and recreational activities and has developed into a cultural centre in recent years. The Festival Centre, on the banks of the Torrens River, has three theatres and an outdoor amphitheatre, whilst the Adelaide Festival of Arts attracts major artists from all over the world.
