Toronto Dress Code
Managers and executives are expected to dress conventionally in Toronto; generally, men should wear a business suit and tie, and women a suit or a conservative dress. Business dress may be less formal on Fridays. Outside the business environment, casual clothes are acceptable in most situations, with the exception of some restaurants and hotel lounges.
Greeting Someone in Toronto
Most people address each other by their first names in Toronto and greet each other with a handshake. On some occasions, such as business meetings and formal functions, it is usual to use a person's title and last name.
Toronto Business Hours and Banking
Business hours in Canadian cities vary from one industry and sector to another but in general, most office environments operate between 09:00 and 17:30, Monday to Friday. The majority of banks are open between 10:00 and 15:00, Monday to Friday, with some occasionally staying open later.
Toronto Smoking
An issue that is traditionally one of great controversy in North America, smokers are warned to be very careful when choosing a place to light up as most public places have banned smoking altogether. The best advice is to smoke only in like-minded company.
