Taipei Transportation
The journey to the city centre of Taipei from CKS International Airport by taxi can take between 45 to 60 minutes because of traffic congestion. Most of the larger hotels operate shuttle services (none are complimentary), and there is also a public shuttle that runs to the main railway station.
Arriving by Air
Taipei is served by the busy and efficient CKS International Airport.
Getting Around Taipei
Getting around the city can be problematic for those with no knowledge of Chinese. All signs are in Chinese and very few people speak English. If driving, it is better to hire an English-speaking driver rather than self-drive. If using the bus, the newly opened automatic, driverless Metropolitan Rapid Transit trains or taxis, it is worth carrying a card with the destination written in Chinese characters.
