St. Louis Dress Code
Dress code is simply down to the discerning visitor. Take outfits you'd feel comfortable wearing in any of the continent's more cosmopolitan centers. Smart but casual clothes suffice in most venues, but remember that St. Louis can be cold in winter and warm and humid in summer.
Greeting Someone in St. Louis
Historically this is the "Gateway to the West" and so it's safe to say that St. Louis is a city that knows how to get on with things with a minimum of fuss. An informal handshake will more than suffice whether you are there on business or visiting simply for pleasure.
St. Louis Business Hours and Banking
As with all major cities, St. Louis's business hours vary from one industry and sector to another but in general, most office environments operate between 09.00 and 17.30, Monday to Friday. The majority of banks are open between 09.00 and 15.00, Monday to Friday with some staying open to 17.30 or 18.00 one day a week. Some of the larger banks will probably also be open on Saturday mornings.
St. Louis Smoking
An issue that is traditionally one of great controversy in the United States, smokers are warned to be very careful when choosing a place to light up as most public places have banned smoking altogether. The best advice is to smoke only in like-minded company.
