Southampton had good transport links, by road and rail from London and other British toes and cities. Southampton is also an active port and many ferries and crise ships arrive and leave this way. A daily ferry service to the nearby Isle Of Wight is also available.

One of the most modern regional airports in Europe, Southampton Airport (SOU) at Eastleigh is 4 miles (6 kilometres) north-west of the city centre and has scheduled services to 12 airports in the UK and seven European destinations, including Paris and Amsterdam.The rail journey from Southampton Airport (Parkway) Station to Southampton Central takes seven minutes.
