Summers are usually warm and pleasant with plenty of sunshine and virtually no rain at all from the beginning of June through to the end of September.
However, it is at this time of year that San Francisco can experience its infamous fog. Thick, rolling cloud moves up through the bay and sometimes sits on the hills for days. Some say this only adds to the unique atmosphere of this very special place. The weather is probably at its most inviting in spring and autumn, with a surprisingly pleasing October temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit (21 degrees Celsius). From November through to spring, San Francisco's rainfall can be frequent and often heavy.
