San Francisco is a friendly city with greetings being generally informal. Most people address each other by their first names and greet each other with a handshake. Although on some occasions, such as business meetings and formal functions, you would be expected to use a person's title and last name.
San Francisco Business Hours and Banking
As with all major cities, San Francisco's business hours vary from one industry and sector to another but in general, most office environments operate between 09.00 and 17.30, Monday to Friday. Banks tend to be open between 09.00 and 15.00, Monday to Friday with some staying open to 17.30 or 18.00 one day a week. Some of the larger banks will probably also be open on Saturday mornings.

Some public places in San Francisco have banned smoking altogether and visitors should pay attention to and take guidance from instruction signs. Ignoring 'No Smoking' warnings is not a wise thing to do in America, as penalties can be strong.
