In San Antonio business attire calls for the standard business suit and tie though visitors might be surprised to find some men attending meetings in cowboy boots and leather neckties. Texans are proud of their Wild West culture and are not afraid to wear clothes that might turn heads in other U.S. cities. Most buildings and vehicles have air conditioning so the hot Texan summers and cool winters needn't alter your choice of clothing.

San Antonio is a true Texan city and it's perhaps worth remembering that Texans are renowned for their almost old fashioned adherence to formal politeness. However, friendly handshake will soon be followed by the use of first-name terms in most social circumstances, although company accreditation in the form of a business card is always a good idea if you're there on business.

San Antonio's business hours vary from one industry and sector to another but in general, most office environments operate between 09.00 and 17.30, Monday to Friday. The majority of banks are open between 09.00 and 15.00, Monday to Friday with some staying open to 17.30 or 18.00 one day a week. Some of the larger banks will probably also be open on Saturday mornings.
