Time Off
Modern day San Antonio is a bustling cosmopolitan town with plenty to see and do for the casual visitor. Amongst other things, it boasts the Alamo a building famous for the legendary 1836 battle between Davy Crockett, Colonel James Bowie and a handful of other Texans against 5000 Mexican troops. The Texan defenders held off the Mexican advance for 13 days until they finally fell. This event is the source of the famous Texan battle cry Remember the Alamo'. However, San Antonio has far more to offer than its famous old fort: it's a light, airy city that enjoys a superb climate for most of the year, so wandering around the many places of interest, whether it be the art museums or historic buildings or themed shopping centers, is a delight.
