Business attire is the standard jacket and tie for men and a suit for women. Short-sleeved shirts are acceptable in warmer weather. Due to the corporate nature of the city, many restaurants in Pittsburgh require men to wear a jacket and tie.

As with all towns and cities, Pittsburgh's business hours vary from one industry and sector to another but as a guide, most office environments are expected to operate between the hours of 09.00 and 17.30, Monday to Friday. The majority of banks will be open between 09.00 and 15.00, Monday to Friday with some staying open later one day a week. Some of the larger banks will probably also be open on Saturday mornings.
