The ever popular city of Miami, Florida is served by one of America's busiest airports, as well as having excellent road and rail links to other neighbouring cities and beyond.

Arriving by Air

Miami International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the world, is served by over 100 airlines taking travelers to approximately 150 destinations around the globe. MIA has more than 33.6 million passengers and 500,000 take-offs and landings each year.

Arriving by Car

The I-95 is the major north - south road that gives access into Miami from Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale. It runs through downtown Miami and into the US-1, South Dixie Highway. A toll-paying expressway, the Florida Turnpike, heads southwards from Orlando and central Florida to the Golden Glades Interchange in the northern part of Miami.

Getting Around Miami

The best way to get around the Miami area is by car and a number of the rental firms offer hourly as well as daily and weekly rates. To avoid getting trapped in traffic congestion in the downtown area there is the 'Metromover'. Part bus, monorail and train, it comprises a couple of computer-controlled carriages that run on an elevated track and offers great views of central Miami.
