Air travel is the best way to get to Manila as the other options are, at best, unpredictable. The bus system in the Phillipines is complicated although the jorneys themselves are comfortable. The country's one remaining train line links Manila to the Bicol region in the south but this an extremely laborious journey.

Getting Around Manila

Once you're in Manila, you may be advised to use the pool of taxis operated by your hotel. They have fixed fares and provide a more convenient and safe way around the city than driving yourself or dealing with the difficult public taxi system.
