Louisville Transportation

As well as boasting an international airport, Louisville also has excellent road and rail links. Whether traveling from elsewhere in Kentuky or further afield, Louiseville is one on the most accessible cities in the United States.

Arriving by Air

Louisville International Airport is just six miles (ten kilometers) south of the city center.

Arriving by Car

From Nashville, Louisville can be reached from the I-65 North, leading to I-264 West, exit 131. From Lexington, drivers should take the I-64 West, which leads to I-264 West, exit 11. From St Louis, I-64 East to I-264 East (exit 1) to exit 11.

Getting Around Louisville

Buses and taxis run between the airport and downtown; the taxi fare is about 14 USD. Some hotels also run their own complimentary shuttle service. Louisville has a very frequent and efficient bus service, but it is best to hire a car when exploring beyond the city's boundaries.
