Islamabad Climate

Islamabad’s location on the edge of Potohar plateau, near the Margalla hills, and its proximity to area lakes results in mild weather throughout the year. Even summer is comparatively cooler in Islamabad than other cities. Summer is followed by monsoons from July to August before the onset of winter. The winter months are still sunny and mild. However, during January the conditions can be cold with average temperatures going down to 16°C.
