Havana Climate
The sun blazes hotly on the tropical island of Cuba. Summer is hottest, with an average temperature in the shade of about 33°C (91°F), but its fierceness is mitigated by cooling northerly trade winds. In winter the average may drop to about 20°C (68°F). August has very little rain, but every other month is prone to tropical storms, which some find delightfully refreshing. More rain falls in the west of the country, where Havana is, than in the east. Hurricane season runs between August and November.
