Goa International Airport

Located 30 kilometres from Dabolim in the capital city Panjim of Goa, and close by to the port town of Vasco da Gama, the Goa Airport is the main air transportation services provider in Goa. Several major airlines in South Asia provide frequent flights to and from Goa Airport. Indian Airlines, Air India, Jet Airways and Sahara Airlines are among the airlines serving at Goa Airport.

Most major international airlines generally have agreements with one or more of their domestic counterparts in India. This is a convenience for the tourists arriving in Goa, as they can book any domestic flights (upon arrival in India) at the same time of purchasing the international flight ticket.

Goa Airport Terminals

Goa Airport has two terminals, one dedicated to international flight departures and arrivals and the other used only for domestic departures and arrivals. Terminal services and facilities available at the Goa Airport include duty free shops, bookstores, newspapers and magazines, eateries, handicrafts and souvenir shops and restrooms. Banking, currency exchange, postal, flight information, tourist information, ground transportation information, bottled water sales and hotel reservation counters are also available in the respective terminals.

Luggage trolleys, wheelchairs and medical services are provided free of charge at the Goa Airport. A child care room is available for a nominal fee.

Car Rental

The Goa Airport does not provide car rental services. However, pre-paid taxis are available for hire through the pre-paid taxi counter located outside the International Terminal of the airport.

Car Parking

Parking facilities at the Goa Airport provide the capacity for 114 cars and 6 coaches. Cars and other small vehicles are charged a very cheap rate for parking. Bus and coach parking rates are a little higher, but not overrated. Parking space is available close by to the terminal building.

Transportation

Transportation from Goa Airport is only provided via pre-paid taxis. Travellers can hire these taxis from the counter located just outside the International Terminal. Pre-paid taxis travel to any destination within Goa, and travellers wishing to take a bus or train to any preferred destination may use the taxis to travel to the closest bus or train station.
