Entertainment
When it comes to nightlife, Glasgow is a city of energy and passion. Its club scene is amongst the most vibrant in the UK. Most of the nightclubs are clustered around the main shopping streets of the city centre, within easy walking distance of each other, and are open from 2230/2300 to between 0300 and 0400. Club nights and venues often change, so check current details in The List (which also covers Edinburgh and is on sale in most newsagents) and look for flyers (promotional leaflets) in bars and pubs. Details of all the city's events are also listed in the two local newspapers, The Herald and the Evening Times.
To book tickets for concerts or theatre productions, call at the Ticket Centre, City Hall, Candleriggs (open Monday-Saturday 0900-1800; Sunday 1200-1700) phone bookings T0141-2874000 (Monday-Saturday 0900-2100; Sunday 0900-1800). Tickets and information on all events are available at the Tourist Information Centre in George Square. You can also find flyers for various events at the main concert halls and theatres and in many of the bars and cafés in the centre of town.
