Spread over two weekends in August, The Fêtes de Genève livens up the city with numerous parades, open-air concerts, shows and firework displays. The most popular and successful Geneva event is l'escalade on 11 December, a bizarre but enteetaining even where the object is to each as much marzipan and chocolate as possible.
