Easily accessible by road and rain, the city of Detroit also has both an international and domestic airport.
Arriving by Air
There are two airports that serve Detroit, Michigan. The first, Detroit Wayne Country Metropolitan Airport, handles both domestic and international flights. The second, Detroit City Airport, primarily provides private and corporate air traffic to nearby American cities.
Arriving by Car
I-75 connects Detroit to Ohio in the south and Flint to the north; I-94 connects Detroit with Ann Arbor and Kalamazoo to the west and Sarnia to the northeast. I-96 connects with Lansing and Grand Rapids to the west.
Getting Around Detroit
Detroit's public transportation system is made up of a dependable public bus service within the city centre that operates 24 hours a day. There is also a light rail system called the People Mover, an elevated single track railway surrounding Detroit's downtown business district.
