Christchurch Dress Code: Business attire in Christchurch consists of suits, shirt and tie for men and dresses and business suits with either trousers or skirt for the ladies. Outside business hours, casual clothes are often the preferred choice - very few restaurants demand jackets and ties, although smart clothing is appreciated in some upscale restaurants.

Christchurch Business Hours: Businesses usually operate from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Shops are sometimes open till late. Most shops also open on Saturday mornings (9:00 am to 12:30 pm) and some in central Christchurch stay open throughout the weekend. Retail stores in New Zealand are open seven days a week - however, they are closed on Good Friday, Anzac Day and Christmas Day.
