Getting Around Charleston
Public transport in South Carolina is efficient, inexpensive and reliable. As well as the excellent bus service, downtown Charleston is small enough to be explored on foot with the help of a guidebook and the friendly locals. Driving in the city centre is also an option as Charleston is a lot more vehicle friendly than other American cities, however, rush hour should be avoided if at all possible.
