Buenos Aires Climate

Buenos Aires is on the south side of the Rio de la Plata in the southern hemisphere, and the climate is generally mild and humid. Temperatures range from 35° Celsius (95° Fahrenheit) in January to 10° Celsius (50° Fahrenheit) in July. From December to the end of February the city can become extremely hot with an average humidity of 65%. In the winter months of June, July and August the level can increase to up to 95%. Most rainfall is during the summer. Two local winds, the sudestada and the pampero, can cause heavy rains and sometimes flooding.
