Time Off
Baltimore is an exciting and attractive city that has a name for being down-to-earth, but not at a cost to its unique and exuberant charm. Most of Baltimore's famous attractions lie within the lively Inner Harbor area, which has been the focal point for the city's revitalisation in recent years. Attractions include the vast and unmissable National Aquarium, which is so popular that it's best to pick up tickets first thing in the morning, before the queues get too long, and return for your visit later.
There are plenty of other sights to see while you wait: the observation level of the World Trade Center for an overview of the city, the shopping areas, Harborplace and the Gallery and dozens of historical sites that are all well worth visiting. No one should leave Baltimore without a visit to Fort McHenry, the scene of the 1814 battle that inspired the words to The Star-Spangled Banner.
